About the President: Jennie J. Gallimore, Ph.D.
Dr. Gallimore received her Ph.D. in 1989 from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (VA Tech) in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research specializing in Human Factors Engineering. She is President of HumanWise, Inc. and a Full Professor of Industrial and Human Factors Engineering at Wright State University. Dr. Gallimore applies human factors engineering principles to the design of complex systems. Example research projects include aviation spatial orientation and investigation of pilot spatial sensory reflexes, design of displays for advanced cockpits, design of displays for interactive semi-autonomous remotely operated vehicles including uninhabited aerial vehicles (UAVs), human performance in virtual environments, aircraft maintenance logistics, human computer interaction and human factors issues in medical systems. Dr. Gallimore has 36 publications and has taught 12 different courses related to human factors engineering. She has received over 1.6 million dollars of grant funding from various organizations. She is a recipient of the 2001 AIAA Simulation and Modeling Best Paper Award, and the WSU College of Engineering and Computer Science Excellence in Research Award 2001/2002. Three of her Ph.D. students received the Stanley N. Roscoe award for best dissertation in Aviation Human Factors (2001, 2003, 2007). She is a member of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society (HFES), Medical Systems Technical Group of HFES, International Ergonomics Association (IEA), the Aerospace Medical Association (AsMA), and the Aerospace Human Factors Association. She is a past president of the Southern Ohio Chapter of the HFES. Dr. Gallimore serves as a trustee of the Dayton Air Show and serves as the airshow's Education Committee chair.
